Native of the Landes in southwestern France, where he discovered the legendary Land Rover Defender when he worked as a forest firefighter. It was there that a passion was born! After leaving mainland France, Philippe moved to St Martin where he worked in landscaping for six years. After becoming completely enamored with tropical vegetation, he began a journey to discover the tropics. Passionate about history, religion and nature since a young age, he began learning about birds and the flight that gives them freedom. After spending 10 years traveling throughout West Africa, Southeast Asia, India and Europe in search of authenticity and something more laid back than the increasingly modern world, he decided to settle in the Caribbean – specifically in Guadeloupe – to raise his daughter. He chose Guadeloupe for its rich environment, but above all because of its history and warmth. Philippe has served as a cast driver during each filming season for the popular BBC television series, Death in Paradise, since 2013, sharing the beauty of the island with actors. After only giving private tours, the idea for Pelican Safari Tour was born.
